Description
T3 (Liothyronine) is a synthetic form of triiodothyronine, the biologically active thyroid hormone. It regulates basal metabolic rate, thermogenesis, and macronutrient metabolism by binding to nuclear thyroid hormone receptors (THRs) and modulating gene transcription. T3 enhances mitochondrial activity, increases oxygen consumption, and promotes protein turnover. It is rapidly absorbed, metabolized hepatically, and excreted primarily in urine.
